Qualabs

A race is six stories at once.

The picture can only be on one of them.

So the broadcast offers you the rest.

What the window offers

The race does not stop. A catalogue opens beside it.

The commentators say the on-board cameras are available, and at that second the playlist opens a window announcing what else can be watched. Not a layout: a list of cameras with the name of the driver on each one, because a list somebody chooses from cannot be a list of identifiers. Below is the window of this run, read off the contract at the playhead — the cameras in it are the cameras that were packaged, under the names the race declares for them.

A catalogue is allowed to be longer than the screen. The cap is of the grid and never of the offer: a race may announce more cameras than fit at once without anything being wrong, and what is capped is how many of them are up — never how many are on offer.

The signalling, as it is served

Read off this page’s own playlist, right now.

Not an illustration. The tag below is the one in the media playlist this player is playing, and the JSON is the asset-list it points at, fetched from the same URL the library fetched it from — the document that was written when this race was packaged, and not a copy kept in the repository.
